Love knows no boundaries...

are you familiar with these situations:

- newly weds who met online months ago ?

i am not really a believer of this...but these meetings do happen! it happened with my 2 aunts, 2 friends and a couple of acquaintances... They entered chatrooms not really looking (maybe hoping...) for romance but just checking out. they meet online almost everyday until they both realized that either of them isnt complete without the other. they meet personally and eventually tied the knot.

- couples with almost or more than ten years in age gaps...and the woman is the one older?

the girl is my friend. They met in a conference. they spent the night working together. They exchange numbers. He texted him after a month of their meeting. She texted back. The continue texting each other. They met again. They became steady. Then they got married

first love who went on separate ways only to meet again, reconcile and get married?

they were both 15 when they were dating. it ended when they were in college. they both married their college sweethearts. years passed. they met in a high school reunion. they were both single again then in their 50s. they reminisced and then got married.

seatmates on the plane on a business travel who dated and becomes more than that?

what a wonderful meeeting! a thousand feet above sea level!

bloggers who exchage comments, then emails, chats, then phone calls and then they plan to get married next year? (uhmmm im i right...its next year?)

who would ever thought that love can bloom in the blogsphere? but it did!...you know who you are...and im trully happy for you.

isnt it great to know that love know no boundaries...the possibilities of meeting our soulmates are limitless...

i wonder how will i meet mine?!

10 things i want to achieve before i turn 30...

my colleague (an avid fan of Cosmo mag) recommends that i read the january issue because it has something about what ladies want to do before they turn 30...since i will be turning 29 in a matter of months i think i'll come up with my own list before reading it (attainable and reasonable ones...so i cant include marrying a rich guy and living in a mansion, or owning an iPhone! -> i have to win it in a raffle or have a rich guy give it to me before i can have one! hehe)...

1. finish reading the art of client service book.
my boss demanded a promisory note last week indicating that we finish reading the book by next week. I havent even started it and im too lazy to read it...so i will just scan the book and lie :)

2. 5 road trips with friends to:
hundred islands, bicol, mt. pinatubo and i dont know where would be the 2 others...the road trip to hundred islands will happen next month...4 to go!

3. have that bungee jump i have been wishing
originally i want a sky dive but i think i am not that courageous yet...so i will start with bungee jumping

4. get a passport and travel out of the country
now its not a secret anymore...i still dont have a passport...never been out of the country yet.

5. go spelunking
i havent tried it yet but i guess its exciting...

6. shed off a few pounds
sigh! this has been my longtime wish...

7. get a promotion
since i might not marry a rich guy (im still hopeful! hehe) then i better work for a promotion to earn more and hopefully afford to to buy an iPhone.

8. to be photographed by a well known photographer
...and pose like a model

9. date like a teen and feel like sixteen!
i haven't done this for a quite some time...

10. meet my knight
who wouldnt want this to happen?!

there it goes...hope i will achieve most of them if not all! i really dont mind not achieving # 1.

perceptions...fair or not?

Sometimes i wonder if our perceptions and impressions of others are fair...and i guess its not most of the time.

We often based our perceptions of others on the way they dress and the way they carry themselves. sometimes we label them names (not so good name at that!) and it somehow hinder us from getting to know them better. (i think there's the cliche that first impression lasts!)...and i am guilty of this "labeling". Many times i have perceived others wrongly...good thing i am given a chance to bond with them and thus change my mind about them.

i fall victim to wrong perceptions too. I am often perceive as a typical woman of the 21th century - fashionable, confident, assertive, liberated, always on the go and competent...never simple and never conservative. i couldnt blame them...the nature of my work influences my taste in fashion and the way i deal with others. but believe me i do take pleasure in simple things like playing with kids, having that long walk in the park, stopping to smell the flowers and appreciating the beauty that nature brings and i am easy to please - a cup of coffee will do the trick (i have written this when i was trying to convince a friend that i am simple!). i am conservative too...yes you read it right (no eyebrow raising please)...i am conservative! i was raised by Catholic devotees and i believe that i have my good values intact (at least most!)

after falling victim of this wrong perceptions and labeling, i am now more careful in my perceptions of others...i try to keep an open mind and give others a chance to prove that they are far more better than my first impressions of them...and i hope others would do the same to me too. :)

Hopes for 2007…

Happy New Year! (a long overdue greeting)

I welcome 2007 with a hopeful heart and spirit trusting my Father for whatever is in store for me this year though I wish that this year…

1. I would be able to do things better…implement projects better…write better posts…manage my time better (I tend to procrastinate and commit too much!)

2. I would become a better daughter and friend…

3. I would go to places that I have never been to... perhaps Vietnam! That would be exciting.

4. I would meet a whole bunch of new friends…and hopefully find my knight! hehehe

5. I would read more books

6. I would be able to finish my 3 jigsaw puzzles specially the world map that I have promised to give Hadi. (I will give it to u on your birthday..promise! I still have 3 months to do it)

7. I would have more time to walk in the park and smell the flowers…

8. I would have enough time to do all the things above! hehehe

Whatever it is...i know my 2007 will also be a great one!

The year that was!

Lots of things happened in 2006 – both good and not so good – all of which made me a better person inside out. These are the things and events that I am really thankful in the past year….

Family…

There is nothing more that I can ask…I have a family that loves me despite my shortcomings (who could resist my charm anyway?!)…who understands me amidst the confusion of why their dear daughter cant go home for a couple of weeks and always sleeping if home!...who supports me in achieving my dreams and reminds me unendingly that I have no right to complain but rather have a thankful heart for everything!

Career…

it was my greatest year career wise. I was given a chance to handle one of the biggest projects (so far) of our advertising agency…it was indeed my time to shine, show off what i’ve got and earn a promotion (a hard work that paid off). I survived those months with an average of 4 hours sleep a day and more than 15 hours of daily work...the good thing is i shreded a lot of weight…but too bad I had the lbs back after the promo months!

Friendships…

I gained new friends from the new people that I have met and from old acquaintances, strengthen old friendships though I almost lost some…(buti na lang almost lang!). Leah (aka Charo…madami kasi akong leah na kakila) and Cherrie are the latest additions to my close friends…I never thought that we would share the bond and very thankful that we do.

Trips…

Added 3 new places to my “been there” list…there’s the outing in Ilocos, and the Bacolod and Cebu trip courtesy of Extra Joss Promo. I also visited Baguio to reunite will college buddies!

New favorite…

I have developed a new hobby – blogging! I find this so therapeutic that I highly recommend it. Another one is body massage…ever since I entered advertising I found out that body massage and other self pampering regime are necessary!

Love…

2006 was a year of healing a broken heart, moving on (not to the next one…but simply moving on!) and forgiving…(I might not have forgotten it but I’m sure I was able to forgive!) It was also my time of feeling like sixteen again!

2006 was indeed a great year! A year of working harder but keeping it fun…a year of loving myself more but not being selfish…a year of growing up while staying young…
