Sometimes i wonder if our perceptions and impressions of others are fair...and i guess its not most of the time.
We often based our perceptions of others on the way they dress and the way they carry themselves. sometimes we label them names (not so good name at that!) and it somehow hinder us from getting to know them better. (i think there's the cliche that first impression lasts!)...and i am guilty of this "labeling". Many times i have perceived others wrongly...good thing i am given a chance to bond with them and thus change my mind about them.
i fall victim to wrong perceptions too. I am often perceive as a typical woman of the 21th century - fashionable, confident, assertive, liberated, always on the go and competent...never simple and never conservative. i couldnt blame them...the nature of my work influences my taste in fashion and the way i deal with others. but believe me i do take pleasure in simple things like playing with kids, having that long walk in the park, stopping to smell the flowers and appreciating the beauty that nature brings and i am easy to please - a cup of coffee will do the trick (i have written this when i was trying to convince a friend that i am simple!). i am conservative too...yes you read it right (no eyebrow raising please)...i am conservative! i was raised by Catholic devotees and i believe that i have my good values intact (at least most!)
after falling victim of this wrong perceptions and labeling, i am now more careful in my perceptions of others...i try to keep an open mind and give others a chance to prove that they are far more better than my first impressions of them...and i hope others would do the same to me too. :)
